OVERVIEW
The John McKenzie Writing Competition, open to students in years 11, 12 and 13, is held by the HBETA every year to encourage and celebrate our best student writers in both prose and poetry. All current and past information is being migrated to the new site Address enquiries to wls@hnhs.school.nz.

MPORTANT DATES
Competition entries close in the last week of Term 3 (September) and are judged in Term 4 of every year. The judge is to be a published writer and, if possible, available for prizegiving which is held in November as part of the HBETA Term 4 meeting, Winning students and their English teachers are to be informed via email of their success. Winners are no longer announced here but rather on the new site.
