HBETA MINUTES 14/5/09 1)New HBETA roles. ·Appointment of chair: Helen Almey graciously resigned (thankyou for your service) and Emma Sharland was nominated and appointed. ·Appointment of treasurer: John Bird nominated and appointed. ·Secretary: Rebecca Lagas and Amy Price nominated and appointed. 2)J. Bird’s financial statement 2009. ·Imp of RSVP for hosting and funding. ·$15 surcharge for debating, leave as is. ·Subscription in deficit (debate whether to keep at $125 or raise to $130). Review next year. ·Poetry: Overcatering at Iona due to lack of replies- please remember to RSVP. Look into sponsors for prizes and possibility of getting Russell McVeigh adjudicator for debating. ·Vote to accept financial statement accepted. 3)Jo Morris NZATE rep. ·Cambridge conference 1st Wed, Th, Fri; think about offering a workshop. 4)New Matrix. ·Consultation/debateongoing regarding standards, new ones arriving soon. ·MUST REVIEW new standards carefully as are controversial.
